CDCR has ended their contract for email and video service with JPAY as of July 1, 2022.
GTL is the NEW vendor. YOU MUST SET UP A GTL ACCOUNT, AND ADD ALL OF THE PEOPLE YOU WISH TO BE IN TOUCH WITH TO YOUR GTL “CONTACTS” LIST to continue to make telephone, and video calls, and email messages.
After June 30th 2022, JPAY no longer has a contract with CDCr. The new email, phone and video call service will be through GTL – gettingout.com.
Every person in California state prisons is supposed to get free tablets from CDCr after July 1st, 2022 and should also be able to access kiosks for email. We know things rarely go as planned, so be prepared if you are unable to email your correspondent right after July 1.
Anyone who wants to save information–photos, messages, etc.– from existing JPAY accounts must save it before July 1st. You can cut, paste, and save into an email, a Word Doc, or other text program. After June 30th you will NOT be able to access your old JPAY account.

STAMP BALANCE
If the user has an active JPay account and a remaining balance that is tied to CDCR, please contact our Customer Support team in one of the three ways below so that we can see if they qualify for a refund.
PLEASE NOTE All qualifying CDCR JPay stamp refunds will be honored for 30 days only through August 8, 2022 (11:59 PM EST). No further refunds will be given after that time.

MESSAGES
Once services have been discontinued users do not have access to their messages, however, JPay has temporarily enabled JPay web and app-based accounts to allow users to once again view your messages. Users now have the ability to save/print/etc. any messages between the user and their CDCR incarcerated loved one. Note that this a view-only privilege and the user will not be able to purchase CDCR stamps or send any messages or attachments.
IMPORTANT: The ability to view messages is temporary and will be shut off as of July 22, 2022 (11:59 PM EST).
